A Message from the Chairman
Navvis Healthcare was founded in 1990, primarily as a physician alignment consultancy. Soon thereafter, the company expanded its strategic planning and service line development capabilities to better meet the needs of our clients as they faced ever-increasing competitive challenges. Over the years, Navvis Healthcare has evolved into a firm with expertise in strategy aimed at building successful health care systems, forging strong physician alliances, optimizing organizational performance and driving bottom line results.
The creation of Navvis & Company has been an interesting journey. It started with The Farris Group, a firm that facilitated medical practice acquisitions aimed at developing strategic models to streamline medical staff integration and improve organizational relationships with physicians.
Then, a strategic business opportunity took me on an unusual detour. I assumed the position of President and CEO of LaserSight Incorporated in Orlando, an early player in LASIK technology. LaserSight developed corneal refractive surgery lasers and traded on NASDAQ. Through that endeavor, I had the opportunity to travel the world, setting up distribution overseas of Lasersight technology. During this same period, I also acquired and led MEC Health Care, Inc., a successful managed care company within the vision care segment with over a million insured lives in the Mid Atlantic region of the United States.
In 2004, I opted to return to health care consulting, and established Navvis Healthcare, LLC. Guiding principles of discipline, competency and value inspired me to continue developing new divisions within Navvis that met the diverse and ever-changing needs of our clients. By adding expertise in many areas such as finance, regulatory compliance, physician integration, utilization forecasting, service line planning, facility development and more, we were able to provide a unique value proposition to clients:
- A thorough, rigorous assessment and understanding of market challenges, based on research and experience;
- A comprehensive blueprint that set the vision and plan for achieving the most positive outcomes for the organization; and
- The expertise to execute that plan, or advise the organization in implementing the plan on its own.
